Well that was interesting.
Sunday afternoon saw the leadership candidates for the upcoming election attend a hustings event in South Wales chaired by the Wales RO.
In stark contrast to the recent General Members Meeting, the organiser(s) trusted those attending to be capable of holding a civil tongue in their head after holding a glass or beer in their hand. It need not be said those present did not betray that trust. Another stark contrast between this and the GMM was that on this occasion hardly any vitriol was dispensed from the podium towards the floor.
Both candidates were subjected to detailed questions and their responses were courteously received.
Which is all the more remarkable given the firestorm that has raged in third party areas.
It was worthwhile going, but I can't say my opinions have changed, nor have my voting intentions.
One thing I will say though.
I wonder if clive jefferson's advisors are the same ones that advised nigel farage as reported by him in a BBC broadcast "The Political Club" which you can find available in full in an earlier link on this blog. It certainly sounded like it to me, but then again, i might be completely mistaken
