"Do You Think Monty Python would have me in Their Inquisition Sketch NOW or must I do or say something even more stupid than I said in Africa first ?"
Hat Tip to The English Blog
For the past couple of months it's been a busy time for me over on the Green Arrow And Friends Blog and in the Hallowed Cyber-Halls of the UKDebaters, so I've rather neglected my own blog for quite a while. But I think this story deserves an airing and I didn't want to stomp over some fascinating revelations of money being poured to waste by our politically-correct masters over on GA's blog, so time to take off the dust sheets at chez johnofgwent.
I heard an amazing news item yesterday. One the like of which I believed would never be heard again in the lands of Dar El Harb. For until yesterday I truly believed these days the only "followers of religion" permitted to express any form of annoyance at what others thought of them through what they call "righteous anger" but what I call "throwing their dummies right out of the pram" were the cultist followers of "mohammedanism" (copyright Winston Churchill)
But what's this ?
Cardinal Cormac Murphy O'Connor has taken a leaf out of the book of the ranters within the cult of the dead paedophile and has taken umbrage at Peter Brooke's cartoon placed in The Times alongside their condemnation of His Inquisitiveness's attitude to the distribution of condoms in Africa as a measure against Aids.
So the cardinal has written a stiff memo, has he. Wow. I'm surprised that's allowed. I really am. Should I be wary of pitchfork-wielding, bible waving papists calling for The Editor's Head on a spike ? I don't know. But it will be a pleasant change to see religious protests from an organisation where the only womenfolk required to wear wierd clothing are those who seek the blessings of their god through contemplative prayer. work and study.
